Housing

Regardless of whether you own or rent the place where you live, you have rights. The Legal Aid Works® Housing Guides are a great resource because they are updated yearly with accurate and helpful information about your rights as a tenant, as well as a list of all the affordable housing we know of in the communities served by our three offices.

Tenants’ Rights Drop In Sessions: talk in person, one-on-one with a Legal Aid Works® attorney about your rights as a tenant in Virginia.  Every first and third Tuesday of the month from 1 to 3 PM, or fifth Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM.  Location: meeting room in the lower level of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library at 1201 Caroline Street in Fredericksburg, VA 22401.  No appointment necessary.

Review the brochures below to find out basic information for both tenants and homeowners.
